Vale do Lobo was born in 1962, when the Algarve was still a coastline of fishing villages and almond groves. It was the first planned resort in the region, and the model it set - low-density villas among pine trees, a championship golf course and a beach at the end of every path - became the blueprint for the Golden Triangle.
